Delightful Garden

I have been in the garden,
getting it ready for spring.
Creating a place to wander,
dream and ponder.
Maybe I will make a swing
under the big trees,
and a place to relax
in the afternoon breeze.

Indeed Spring is here. The garden is lush and green and the fragrant flowers are blooming. I have been busy trying to transform the over grown jungle in my backyard into a beautiful garden. I am quite exhausted and can only dream my garden would look as lovely and magical as these. Still what I have means a lot to me. :)

I hope you are enjoying your Spring days
and making your dreams come true.

Serene Glamour

Some sparkle in the dark makes for some serenely glamorous settings.
The first picture is one of my favorites for Interior Design inspiration.
I have a big shell like this one in my yard maybe I should bring it inside!
I hope you find some sparkle in your day too.

Peaceful Japanese Gardens

With Japan on my mind, I wound up searching for everything Japanese from interior design, furniture, graphics, landscaping and more. I came across some lovely (real) gardens will perhaps post a few pics next time. I liked the graphics of these two pictures which are actually paint-by-number paintings. Remember those? I loved painting them as a child... I hope the pretty gardens bring thoughts of calm for Japan and the other places affected by the earthquake and tsunami. Perhaps the pictures will inspire you to paint a pretty picture or plant some pretty flowers in a garden too.

The Great Wave

Sending positive thoughts and prayers out to those in Japan and all of the other areas that have been and will be affected by yesterday's 8.9 Earthquake and subsequent Tsunami. The power of nature never ceases to amaze me. They say waves may reach Hawaii and as far as the California coast too.

After watching the news and a few videos on the devastation, my thoughts wandered and came to rest on images of "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" by Katsushika Hokusai. He was a great Japanese artist who lived a long time ago from 1760 to 1849. This was the first color block print in the series "Thirty Six Views of Mount Fuji." I found a video with more of his work set to some soothing music too.

I hope that calm seas return soon and that everybody has a safe and blessed day.

March On

It is a sunny day in LA,
but it's cold and it's suppose to rain.
How are you today?

Seriously Cool Bedrooms!

There are so many beautiful interior design blogs with posts about bedrooms, like those over at Claudia's blog, The Paris Apartment in One of a Kind Love Affair, To Sleep, Perchance to Dream, and The Art of the Unmade Bed, and over at Trouvais in her post More Bella Notte.

I had to join in the fun and share some pretty bedrooms I found too,
but with a twist... ones with beds that look like tents, and those with canopies and a cozy nook to curl up with a good book.
I hope they are inspiring and peaceful. Sweet Dreams!

"The Holiday" and Bedroom Tents

I'm watching one of my favorite movies, "The Holiday"
and dreaming of pretty cottages with cozy rooms.

Some of the cutest scenes from the movie are with the little girls,
Sophie and Olivia, when they want to show Amanda their room:
"Guess what? We have a tent in our playroom. Do you want to see it?"

"This is an exceptionally great room!"

"Come inside! Lay down... lay down. It's cozy."

"Who cut out all these beautiful stars?
"We did, the three Musketeers."

Next post, I'll share some more "seriously cool" rooms!
